Students present at Eastern Colleges Science Conference

On Saturday, 6 April 2019, Dr. Laura Twersky’s BI-498 research course and biology faculty presented at the Annual Eastern Colleges Science Conference held at Manhattan College.

Junior Honors student Hunter Criollo and his research partner Ramandeep Kaur presented their research “The effects of selected Ayurvedic medicines on steroid-induced cataracts in Rana pipiens (Northern leopard frog).”

Honors senior Michael Verile won an award for his senior thesis research project “Can Tualang or Manuka honey prevent the rate of development changes and malformations seen after bisphenol A exposure in Xenopus laevis (clawed frog)?” Michael worked with faculty mentors Laura Twersky and Christina Mortellaro.
