Christiane Warren, Ph.D., to talk about 19th Amendment Centennial

The History Department is excited to share that Dr. Christiane Warren, Adjunct Lecturer of History, will be a featured speaker at the YWCA Bergen’s talk on the Centennial of the 19th Amendment.

Passed by Congress on June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote. Join YWCA CEO Helen Archontou, and historian Christiane Warren, Ph.D., on he anniversary of this historic event, Tuesday, August 18th at 11am via the YWCANNJ Facebook, as they discuss the struggles that took decades in order to achieve this important milestone for women. The conversation will feature key issues addressed to NJ voters, including race and the vote. Also, learn how to get yourself registered to vote (if you aren’t already!), as well as how to check your current voter status.
