School Overview
Preparing students to shape what comes next
The School of Global Innovation and AI is Saint Peter’s interdisciplinary home for education, research and collaboration at the intersection of emerging technology, human-centered innovation and workforce transformation. It serves students at every stage—from undergraduates building foundational expertise to working professionals advancing their careers and doctoral students contributing original research.
The school houses the Data Science Institute and the Department of Computer and Information Science, creating a connected academic environment for their courses, degree programs, faculty scholarship and student learning. This structure supports collaboration across data science, AI, computing, cybersecurity and information sciences while opening new opportunities for interdisciplinary work throughout the University.

The school’s academic direction is organized around three interconnected areas that reflect how innovation happens in practice: across borders and sectors, through responsible uses of artificial intelligence, and on a strong foundation in computing and data.
Global and Workforce Innovation
Students examine how organizations, industries and communities respond to economic, technological and social change. Learning emphasizes creative problem-solving, collaboration, adaptability and the ability to move ideas from concept to implementation in a global context.
Ethical and Applied Artificial Intelligence
Students learn to understand, evaluate and apply artificial intelligence to real challenges while considering privacy, bias, transparency, accountability and social impact. The goal is not only technical competence, but the judgment to use AI responsibly and in service of people.
Computational Sciences
Programs in data science, computer science, cybersecurity and information sciences develop the analytical and technical foundations needed to build, secure and improve modern systems. Coursework and research connect computing methods with practical questions across disciplines and industries.
