Business Professor Presents Social Entrepreneurship Paper at NYU Stern School of Business

Mary Kate Naatus, Ph.D., assistant business professor and acting director of Ignite Institute at Saint Peter’s University, presented a paper on social entrepreneurship at the 12th Annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference at the New York University Stern School of Business. The paper, Students as Social Entrepreneur Change Agents: Community Based Research and Learning, was co-authored by Dr. Naatus, Alex Trillo, associate professor of sociology, and Michael Caslin, managing director of strategy and development at Rising Tide Capital. Marvin Guevane ’18, honors research assistant and business major, provided research and editing assistance on the paper and presentation. A number of Saint Peter’s Title V research students also contributed to the research process by interviewing 40 small business owners in Jersey City Heights and analyzing the data. That research phase was funded by The Provident Bank Foundation Signature grant awarded to the Ignite Institute.
