Cuban Diplomats Visit Saint Peter’s
On February 8, diplomats from the Permanent Mission of Cuba to the United Nations met with Saint Peter’s students and faculty to discuss the current environment in Cuba. Mr. Luis Javier Baro, the first secretary, also spoke about the evolving economic and political environment. The lecture was part of the academic preparation for the business program international travel course to Cuba during this year’s spring break. Forty four MBA and undergraduate business students will visit the country, meet with entrepreneurs and visit the University of Havana as part of the learning experience. Dr. Karl Alorbi, Dr. Mary Kate Naatus and Professor Ray Butkus are the faculty members leading the travel course. Also pictured here are Scott Keller, director of the Center for Global Learning and Sam Finesurrey, adjunct professor of history, Dr. Alex Mirescu, political science; Dr. Alex Trillo, sociology and Latin American/Latino studies; and Chanaz Gargouri, lecturer of business administration.
