Improvements included fresh paint, the removal of old carpeting to reveal the original flooring, upgraded lighting and other enhancements.

The design was spearheaded by Sandra Lozada, wife of President Benitez, with construction led by Billy Santomauro of Santomauro General Contracting, under the leadership of Anna DePaula and Sandy Sanay of the Saint Peter’s University Facilities team.

The reopening Mass was celebrated by Fr. Rocco Danzi of Saint Peter’s University and Fr. Asiel Rodriguez of Saint Aedan’s Church, marking the renewed chapel’s return as a place of prayer, reflection and community for the University.

The chapel renovation was made possible through the generous support of alumni, friends, and The Jesuit community. Their contributions of nearly $70,000 have helped create a revitalized place of prayer and reflection while preserving the chapel’s significance to generations of Peacocks.
