President Cornacchia and Provost Bonato Named to ROI-NJ Higher Education Influencer List

Jersey City, N.J. – May 10, 2023 – Saint Peter’s University is pleased to announce that Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president, and Frederick Bonato, Ph.D., executive vice president and provost were named to ROI-NJ’s prestigious Influencer: Higher Education 2023 list. Each year ROI-NJ’s list recognizes impactful leaders in New Jersey colleges and universities with a special focus on unique classes, programs and new buildings.

“We are honored and humbled to be featured on this year’s list published by ROI-NJ,” said Dr. Cornacchia and Dr. Bonato. “This accomplishment could not have been made possible without the unwavering dedication, hard work and passion of all the members of the Saint Peter’s community.”

Dr. Cornacchia is the 22nd president of Saint Peter’s University. Under Dr. Cornacchia’s leadership, Saint Peter’s has expanded its highly regarded undergraduate and graduate programs, initiated the institution’s first doctoral programs and established three of the four schools at the University including the Frank J. Guarini School of Business, a School of Nursing and the Caulfield School of Education. Dr. Cornacchia was also instrumental to Saint Peter’s achieving university status.

Dr. Bonato is the executive vice president and provost for Saint Peter’s University. He has worked collaboratively to launch an unprecedented number of new programs strategically targeted to address emerging student needs. Partnerships with other institutions and firms have significantly increased enrollment at the University. These efforts have resulted in overall enrollment growth of 13% from fall 2021 to fall 2022. Graduate enrollment has increased 67% since 2018 and international students have grown from 72 students in 2018 to over 700 in 2023.
