Jersey City, N.J. – March 30, 2022 – Saint Peter’s University is proud to announce plans for its Founders’ Week celebration in honor of the 150th anniversary of April 3, 1872, the day Saint Peter’s was granted its charter from the State of New Jersey. The celebration will begin with a Mass on Sunday, April 3 and will continue with additional activities throughout the week.

“Throughout the academic year we have been hosting events and programming commemorating our 150th anniversary as it is a tremendous milestone in Saint Peter’s history,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s University. “The University community is incredibly excited for the Founders’ Week celebration as it is the peak of our Sesquicentennial planning.”

The Mass on April 3 will take place at 1:00 p.m. at St. Aedan’s: The Saint Peter’s University Church and will be hosted in conjunction with Saint Peter’s Preparatory School, also celebrating its 150th anniversary, and the Saint Peter’s Jesuit community.
