University Marks Start of Black History Month

The University community virtually gathered on Monday, February 1 for a flag raising to commemorate the start of Black History Month. Nursing major Loudjie Marie Theodore ’21 performed a beautiful rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Celebrated during the month of February, Black History Month highlights the influence of African American culture and individuals throughout history. Workshops, poetry slams, art shows and more will be held throughout the month.
