Saint Peter’s Students Lead the MAAC 2019-20 Esports All-Academic Team

Jersey City, N.J. – August 10, 2020 – Saint Peter’s today announced that 21 University students were named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) 2019-20 Esports All-Academic Team. Christian Bailey ’22, Kevin Dang ’23, Daniel Dominguez ’22, Gerald Gabriel Gabinete ’21, Jazmine Galang ’23, George Grioli ’21, Diego Herrer ’21, Nudkitinon Kothisen ’23, James Malasig ’22, Julian Mayugba ’21, Michael Mitchell ’21, Alexander Moscote ’21, Marcelo Munoz ’23, Charise Ashley Ramos ’21, Leslien Ruiz ’22, Brandon Smith ’23, Isaiah Torres ’22, Steven Truong ’22, Maria Umana Gomez ’21 and Sam Wong ’22 each earned a spot on the academic team.

A total of 69 student-athletes were named to the 2019-20 MAAC Esports All-Academic Team with Saint Peter’s placed as the top achiever in the classroom. To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a 4.0 scale.

The Esports program at Saint Peter’s University launched in the spring of 2018 and was established as a member in the MAAC and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). The University also was among the first in the nation to offer a bachelor’s degree in business with an Esports specialization.
