This year’s Hearts & Minds: The Saint Peter’s University Scholarship Celebration honored two esteemed alumni, Niurka “Nikki” Mederos ’07, ’10 for Service to Community and Eugene T. Paolino, Esq. ’69 for Professional Achievement. The annual event brought a crowd of more than 200 guests to The Duncan Family Sky Room. The highlight of the evening was a live Fund-a-Scholar auction, moderated by Eugene O. Flinn ’80. The auction raised $75,000 for the General Scholarship Fund in just a few minutes. The energy of the auction was fueled by a compelling and deeply touching speech given by Nicholas Raghunandan ’20, ’21, an accounting major. All proceeds from the event support the General Scholarship Fund, which allows students to graduate with less debt.
The event was chaired by Susan Mitchell-Abbate ’72, vice chair of the Saint Peter’s University Board of Trustees and Genova Burns LLC was the presenting sponsor.
