Saint Peter’s University Launches an Online Master’s Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology

Jersey City, N.J. – April 17, 2019 – Saint Peter’s University today announced a master’s degree in industrial organizational psychology, which will be offered fully online beginning in the fall of 2019. Industrial organizational psychology, also known as I/O psychology, is the scientific study of human and organizational behavior and the application of that science to workplace issues. The 36-credit program at Saint Peter’s offers two track options for students to pursue a Master of Arts or a Master of Science, both of which can be completed in 15 months. An accelerated option will also be available for current undergraduates, which will enable them to graduate with an M.S. or M.A. in five years.

“As one of the fasting growing fields in the United States, according to the Department of Labor, an industrial organizational psychology degree provides students with a chance to further their knowledge of psychology and increase their marketability in today’s workforce,” said Joshua Feinberg, Ph.D., director of the program and associate professor of psychology.

Graduates of the program will have the expertise and training necessary to improve organizational performance and will be prepared to pursue career paths in academic, organizational and consulting settings. Courses in the program include management and human behavior, leadership, group dynamics and conflict resolution, among others.

The program at Saint Peter’s is highly flexible and customizable. The Master of Science track includes a total of six core courses, four electives and a thesis while the Master of Arts track includes six core courses, five electives and a capstone project. The online nature of the program allows students to work around their busy schedules and courses can be taken at their own personal pace.
