Saint Peter’s University Shows Gratitude for Premier Giving Society at Annual President’s Reception

Students were the focus at the recent President’s Reception held at the Pleasantdale Château in West Orange. The annual event, hosted by Saint Peter’s University President Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., serves to recognize the dedicated donors who are President’s Council members. The President’s Council is comprised of alumni, friends, corporations and foundations who have demonstrated an admirable dedication to the University and its mission through leadership level giving. This cohort of dedicated donors help pave the pathway for students who learn, grow and graduate ready to make an impact on the world.

For generations, the University has built its legacy by elevating the lives of thousands of graduates and at the event, attendees heard from one remarkable student, Anica Bustamante ’18. Bustamante is indeed a woman for others; she has had a tremendous effect on the University through her leadership. In addition, she continues the legacy of her parents, Maria (Lansang) Bustamante ’91 and Leopoldo Bustamante Jr. ’93, who both attended Saint Peter’s; Bustamante is one of 57 legacy students currently enrolled.

“I look back on the past four years, and I wonder what type of legacy I will have left on this University,” said Bustamante, “As much as I am my parents’ legacy, I think that as a whole, WE, the current Saint Peter’s students, represent the greater legacy left behind by you, the alumni and members of the Saint Peter’s community who make our education possible.”

It is due to the dedication of President’s Council donors that Saint Peter’s is able to provide a top-notch education to students like Bustamante.
