Community Comes Together to “Make an Impact”

KathyFor the fourth year in a row, Saint Peter’s proved to be successful with the University’s annual 24-hour/weekend long campaign. This year the theme of the 24-hour campaign was “Make an Impact – A Day of Giving.” The event was held on Thursday, March 26 from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. and was designed to inspire and support Saint Peter’s students.

Throughout the day the University encouraged alumni, friends, parents and members of the community to make a gift of any size to support current students. Donors won fun prizes and contests were held throughout the day. The Office of Advancement and External Affairs had a table set-up near the entrance of the Mac Mahon Student Center where members of the community could make a gift and collect a few giveaways such as a notepad or a button.

Thanks to the University’s alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students, “Make an Impact” was a great success with more than 320 donors.

DayofGiving3Saint Peter’s previously ran 24-hour and weekend long campaigns in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2012, Saint Peter’s ran a campaign to acquire 140 donors in 24 hours in honor of the University’s 140th anniversary. The goal was significantly exceeded with 382 donors who gave a grand total of $90,939. In 2013, the “Let’s Do It Again on May 10,” campaign sought to acquire 424 donors in 24 hours and that goal was also exceeded with 458 donors. In 2014 the University set a goal of 500 donors in 50 hours, which resulted in a final count of 525 donors and more than $115,425 raised for the University.

“The difference between this year’s campaign and previous years is that for the first time we had a strong presence on-campus, which proved to be a tremendous advantage,” said Donna Lindsey, manager of annual giving at Saint Peter’s University. “The participation among our University family was truly inspiring. It was exciting to see how quickly the buzz grew with all of the donors proudly wearing their buttons and stopping by the table throughout the day.”
