Climate Expert Speaks at Saint Peter’s College for 57th Annual Mendel Lecture – April 23, 2008

Jersey City – Dr. Jennifer A. Francis will be the featured speaker at the 57th Annual Mendel Lecture on Wednesday, April 23 at 4:30 p.m. in Pope Lecture Hall on the College’s Jersey City campus. Her presentation is entitled, “Winds of Climate Change: Are We Sailing Off the Chart?”

 

Dr. Francis is a Research Professor at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, in the Institute of Marine and Coastal Sciences. She is also a faculty member of the University’s Graduate Program in Atmospheric Sciences. Her research is focused on the Arctic climate system, and the application of satellite information to investigate the causes for, and implications of, the Arctic’s rapid change in recent decades.

 

The Mendel Lecture is the longest running lecture series in the College’s history. The event is co-sponsored by the Biology Department and the student-run Mendel Biology Society.
