May 05, 2003– Jersey City, NJ– Dr. Theresa Lewis (Nyack, NY) has been promoted to Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies at Saint Peter’s College. She will now oversee all adult undergraduate degree programs at the College’s Jersey City, Englewood Cliffs and new South Amboy campuses. Dr. Lewis joined Saint Peter’s in 2001 as Associate Dean of the School of Professional and Continuing Studies. ”Dr. Lewis has extensive experience in adult education,” said Saint Peter’s College Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Eugene Cornacchia. “She is committed to better serving the unique needs of the adult student population. Her leadership will help us attract Central Jersey students when we open our adult campus at Cardinal McCarrick High School in South Amboy in September.” Dr. Lewis has previously held adult and continuing education positions at Westchester Business Institute, Passaic County Community College, College of New Rochelle and Columbia University. She earned her undergraduate degree from Saint Thomas Aquinas College and followed with a master’s from Fordham University and a doctorate from Columbia University. She has also taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs. Saint Peter’s also offers classes in downtown Jersey City near the waterfront financial district.
