Anita M. Subramaniam, Ph.D.

Dr. Anita Subramaniam began her career as a Higher Secondary School teacher in India before moving to the United States to pursue her doctoral studies at The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. After earning her doctorate, she joined Montclair State University as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Consumer Affairs program within the Department of Human Ecology.

She also served as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Selling and Sales Management at Purdue University, where she taught courses in Relationship Selling, Personal Selling, and Negotiation, while supervising students during their sales internships.

Returning to India, Dr. Subramaniam worked with several IT companies, including Cognizant Technology Solutions, headquartered in New Jersey. At Cognizant India, she played a key role in optimizing employee communication programs and developed training initiatives such as an entry-level personal management program, an ESL program, and a client interfacing skills program. She evaluated and collaborated with trainers and subject matter experts to enhance these training efforts.

In 2007, she founded her own consulting firm, hiLinq Consulting, through which she developed a social learning portal for children. She actively participated in entrepreneurial organizations such as The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Villgro, attending numerous networking and training events. In 2016, she presented her book, 7 Magical Charms of Selling, at a TiE conference and won first prize at the Start-Up Weekend hosted by Anna University in Chennai, India. She employed a team of programmers who helped bring her vision to life by launching the portal. Additionally, Dr. Subramaniam has provided consulting services in Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Relationship Management for companies including Net Magnus India Private Limited and Lexingtonsoft India Private Limited.
