About Dr. Remley

I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in economics. I then went on to law school, after which I clerked for an appellate court judge. I practiced law in Washington DC for a number of years. In the 2000’s I went back to school to study philosophy first at Georgetown University and then at the New School for Social Research in New York City. I have been teaching philosophy at the undergraduate level since 2013.

“I like to involve students in a conversation about the issues of philosophy. I believe that college students need to engage with their peers as well as others to try to understand the world around them, and what that world means to them. Philosophy can help lead the way in these important discussions.”

Research Interests

I write primarily about 19th and 20th century political philosophy, but my interests include Critical Theory, Phenomenology, Legal Theory, and Critical Race Theory.
