Faculty Access
  • Online Instructional Design Tools for Course Development
    • Honorlock: Honorlock, is an academic integrity tool used for online exam proctoring. You can find the guide for using Honorlock with Blackboard
    • Saint Peter’s University Pressbooks Catalog: Pressbooks is a platform that hosts Open Education Resources (OERs) developed by academic staff globally. Saint Peter’s University faculty have participated in the development of OERs specifically for their courses, and these texts are openly available and can be adopted by other university faculty. Faculty can also search Pressbooks for an OER created elsewhere that meets your course needs. Adoption of an OER, also known as open-access textbooks, reduces the burdens of costs for students.
    • O’Toole Library: The Saint Peter’s University Theresa and Edward O’Toole Library offers various online learning resources to support online course development. Two such resources include the following databases:
  • University Student and Academic Support Services: The university offers a diverse suite of support services to foster the holistic development of each student. Students enrolled in both on-ground and online degree programs can acquaint themselves with these resources
  • Online Learning Professional Development and Best Practices:
    • Online Learning Consortium: The university currently subscribes as a member institution to the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), a collaborative community of higher education leaders and innovators dedicated to advancing quality digital teaching and learning experiences designed to reach and engage the modern learners. Using your SPU email address, you may register on the OLC website and access free webinars and resources to support online learning teaching and learning. OLC reduced-cost webinars are not covered by our current membership level, please direct follow up questions to your program Dean or Director.
    • The Chronicle of Higher Education: Access to this online periodical is available through your SPU credentials via the O’Toole Library.
    • Faculty Focus: This is a free newsletter and website, dedicated to teachers and instructors.
