Announcement of New Partnership between Saint Peter’s University and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Earlier this year, Saint Peter’s University and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ) in Bogotá, Colombia, signed a memorandum of understanding to promote collaborations among both institutions. PUJ is a comprehensive university known for extensive research and programs in all academic disciplines, including schools of health, medicine, dentistry, law engineering and others. The agreement was signed Saint Peter’s University President Hubert Benitez, D.D.S., Ph.D., and by Andrés Rosas Wulfers, PUJ Vice president of Extension and Interinstitutional Relations.

The intent of the agreement is to promote collaborations among two Jesuit, Catholic universities, which are part of the global Ignatian network, offering distinct educational experiences. The spectrum of opportunities includes establishing exchange of students and faculty across multiple disciplines; development of dual degree programs; offering summer and short courses for groups of students from both campuses, promoting student experiences across Colombia and the United States.

“As Jesuit, Catholic universities, Saint Peter’s University and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana are united by a shared Ignatian mission that calls us to collaboration in service of the common good,” said Dr. Hubert Benitez, President of Saint Peter’s University. “This collaboration strengthens our place within the global Ignatian network, deepening academic exchange, research, and formation across borders, and affirming our commitment to promoting the value of Jesuit Catholic institutions and to bringing students, people and cultures from Colombia and the United States together.”

Both Saint Peter’s University and Pontificia Universidad Javeriana celebrate this collaboration and look forward to a fruitful partnership for years to come.
