Saint Peter’s University Announces Appointment of Mary Sanchez-Alarcon as New Executive Director of Human Resources

Jersey City, N.J. – December 5 2025 – Saint Peter’s University today announced the appointment of Mary Sanchez-Alarcon as the university’s new Executive Director, Human Resources.

photo of Mary Sanchez-AlarconMary has spent the past 13 years dedicated to leading human resource transformations and strengthening mission-driven organizations across the nonprofit sector, particularly in education and youth development. In her most recent role as Vice President of Human Resources for a national youth-serving organization, she built scalable HR systems, led organizational redesign efforts, and supported executive leadership through periods of growth and change. She brings experience across finance, operations, and human resources, with particular expertise in HR operations, employee relations, and organizational development.

Mary is excited to join Saint Peter’s University and looks forward to contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-centered campus culture that prioritizes psychological safety and an exceptional employee experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Political Science from Lehman College, a Master’s degree in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, a certificate in Nonprofit Leadership from Columbia Business School, and is SHRM-SCP certified.
