ICSEM 12 Conference
Welcome!

The Saint Peter’s University Department of Biology will be hosting the 2026 International Conference on the Systematics and Ecology of Myxomycetes (ICSEM 12) (or 12 ICSEM).
The conference will take place from August 3rd to 7th, 2026. Make sure to save the date! Registration and presentation proposals coming soon!

Keynote Speaker Details
The ICSEM12 conference will offer five engaging days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and exploration. The conference begins on August 3rd with registration and an opening social event, providing attendees an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and meet researchers from around the world.
On August 4th, participants will hear from keynote speaker Dr. Steve L. Stephenson followed by research presentations showcasing current advances in myxomycete biology and related fields. Presentations will continue throughout August 5th, highlighting a diverse range of international research. On August 6th, attendees will participate in a foraging field trip with lunch included, followed by the conference banquet in the evening. The conference will conclude on August 7th with laboratory time to examine specimens, closing remarks and final discussions celebrating the collaborations and discoveries shared throughout the week.
ICSEM12 Call for Submissions
The ICSEM 12 Congress invite your original research presentation applications. The deadline for consideration is July 10th, 2026.
Arrival & On-Site Registration

Conference registration will be avail able in the Duncan Family Sky Room on the sixth floor of the MacMahon Student Center, where all of our meetings (except field excursions) will occur.
(Please note: The MacMahon Student Center has two entrances – the northside street address is 47 Glenwood Avenue and the southside is 782 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306.)

By Air…
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is the closest airport – approximately 20-25 minutes by taxi/Uber/Lyft from campus or the hotel, depending on traffic. (LaGuardia and JFK airports are roughly an hour by car or 1 to 1.5 hours away by public transportation.)
By Land…
Newark Penn Station is the closest Amtrak Station, also approximately 20-25 minutes by car to campus or the hotel. New Jersey’s subway (PATH) runs from Newark Penn Station, through Jersey City and Hoboken, and into Manhattan (on two lines – to World Trade Center and to 33rd Street/6th Avenue).
- The nearest PATH station to the campus is Journal Square (which is an 8-10 minute walk from campus). The university runs shuttles every fifteen minutes to and from the station to the Student Center.
- The Canopy Hilton Hotel is right across from the Grove St. Station
