School of Business Administration Granted Accreditation

Jersey City, N.J. – August 8, 2014 – Saint Peter’s University today announced that the School of Business Administration was granted first-time accreditation of its business management programs by the Board Commissioners of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE). The IACBE is nationally-recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and is a leader in mission-driven and outcomes-based programmatic accreditation in business.

In order to receive accreditation, the Saint Peter’s School of Business Administration completed a rigorous self-evaluation and a comprehensive peer review. The School was assessed based on compliance with the IACBE Accreditation Principles of strategic planning, outcomes assessment, curriculum, faculty, scholarly and professional activities, resources, internal and external relationships, international business education and educational innovation. The IACBE commended Saint Peter’s for its commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education and advancing academic quality in its business programs and operations.

“The University community is very proud to receive this honor,” said Eugene J. Cornacchia, Ph.D., president of Saint Peter’s University. “This recognition from the IACBE reflects the commitment of the Saint Peter’s School of Business Administration to educate the future business leaders of tomorrow. This endeavor would not be possible without the dedication of the members of the IACBE Task Force and the entire faculty from the School of Business. Dr. Velda Goldberg, former dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Business Administration was instrumental in the accreditation process.”

The accredited programs include the bachelor’s programs in business management, international business, marketing and accounting as well as the master’s programs in business administration and accountancy. The IACBE accreditation is valid for seven years.
