Dr. Emmanuel Navon To Speak About Arab-Israli Conflict

Septmeber 18, 2002— Jersey City, NJ – Dr. Emmanel Navon, a member of the Tel- Aviv University faculty and a political consultant will speak about the Arab-Israeli conflict at Saint Peter’s College on Thursday, September 26 at 11 a.m. He will talk in the Pope Hall Lecture Theater on the College’s Jersey City campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Navon, who was born and raised in Paris, has taught political science courses in Israel at Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 1996, three years after his graduation for the Institut D-Etudes Politiques de Paris. He has also worked for the last several years to assist Israeli political ministers, diplomats and Jewish community leaders in providing Israel‚s point-of-view in discussing Arab-Israeli issues with the foreign media.

The event is sponsored by Saint Peter‚s Guarini Center for International and Public Affairs and the College‚s Peace and Justice Program.
“The Arab-Israeli Crisis is pivotal to American interests around the world,” said Honorable Frank J. Guarini. “The Center welcomes the chance to hear Dr. Emmanuel Navon’s view of recent events from the Israeli perspective.”

The Guarini Center for Governmental Affairs was established in 1994 to provide a non-partisan forum for the thoughtful discussion of public policy issues and to interest students in pursuing careers in public service.

Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City and a branch campus, specializing in adult education, is located in Englewood Cliffs.
