April 17, 2002– Palestinian Doctor and Journalist to Speak at
Saint Peter’s College April 11

Jersey City, NJ – Dr. Samah Jabr, a Palestinian physician, freelance journalist and lifelong Jerusalem resident, will speak at Saint Peter’s College on Thursday, April 11 at 11 a.m. about the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Dr. Jabr, who writes frequently about the need for human rights for all groups, including the Palestinians, will lecture on what it is like for the Palestinians to live under Israeli occupation.
“This is a critical time in the Middle East,” Saint Peter’s College Assistant Political Science Professor Dr. Anna Brown said. “We read a lot about the continuing Israeli-Palestinian conflict in the papers and see news coverage on television, but to learn what is happening from someone who lives there and truly understands the issues will be an enlightening experience.”

The discussion, sponsored by the College’s Social Justice Program, is free and open to the public. For more information, please call 201-915-4963.
