Sports Management & Esports Business

Throughout the course of the program, we will talk about issues in Athletics and analyze the sports industry on how things operate from a day to day basis.

Sports today is a BIG business.

In fact, sports is a $200-billion-dollar-a-year industry — and growing.

Sports management is the field of business dealing with organized sports activities. It occurs in many areas, including:

  • Schools. Extensive programs exist in elementary, high school, and college environments.
  • Professional Organizations. These include basketball, soccer, horse racing, and more widely-attended activities. Many lesser-known physical activities also qualify as a sport.
  • Associations. Churches, clubs, leagues, and other formal and informal groups organize to participate in sporting activities.

The Bachelor of Science degree in sports management equips students to pursue careers in any area of business or management, with many lessons shaped by examples in sporting activities and events.
