Faculty Showcase on Gamification and Game-Based Learning in an Online Environment

On February 9, the Distance Learning Committee and the Office of the Provost presented, “Faculty Showcase on Gamification and Game-Based Learning in an Online Environment.” Instructional Designer Suzanne Kissel presented effective game-based tips and strategies to faculty members from many departments. Additionally, Saint Peter’s University faculty members Professor Karen Beerbower, Dr. Devin Rafferty, and Dr. Mary Kate Naatus demonstrated their current and future game-based online courses. The faculty members displayed their Blackboard shells and discussed the process behind how they developed their game-based courses. Moreover, the discussion focused on using gamification to motivate students and enhance instruction in an online learning environment. If you interested in more information on game-based learning, please contact Dr. Nicole Luongo at nluongo@saintpeters.edu or Mr. Robert Adelson at radelson@saintpeters.edu.
