Remembering Rev. L. Edward Glynn, S.J., 19th president of Saint Peter’s University
It is with deep regret and sadness that I share that Rev. L. Edward Glynn, S.J., 19th president of Saint Peter’s University, passed away peacefully yesterday at home in the Maryland Province’s Colombiere Jesuit Community. Further details regarding arrangements will be shared once available.
During his tenure as president from 1978 to 1990, Fr. Glynn made possible an extraordinary number of advancements that readied the University (then College) to become the thriving institution it is today. Among them was the welcoming of our first resident students, and the reestablishment and growth of our graduate programs.
While we mourn this great leader’s passing, let us also celebrate his countless contributions to our beloved Saint Peter’s. May he rest in peace.
