David S. Broder, Pulitzer Prize winning-journalist and Washington Post<\/em> political columnist, is the featured luncheon speaker at the 35th Annual Business Symposium.<\/strong>  <\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

This year’s theme is Managing Change: 21st<\/sup> Century Perspectives<\/em>. Fidelity Investments is the lead corporate sponsor for the event.<\/div>\n

“This year’s program brings together a broad range of speakers to discuss key issues and challenges businesses face in today’s increasingly competitive environment,” said Bob Goldstein ’60, Chair of the Saint Peter’s College Board of Regents.<\/div>\n

Broder, a national political correspondent for The Washington Post<\/em>, earned the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for distinguished commentary. He received the Fourth Estate Award in 1990 and the Distinguished Contributions to Journalism Award in 1993 from the National Press Foundation. He is a regular commentator on CNN’s Inside Politics<\/em> and a frequent guest on NBC’s Meet the Press<\/em> and Washington Week in Review<\/em>. <\/div>\n

Other speakers at this year’s Business Symposium<\/span><\/strong><\/a> include former National Football League Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, Honorary ’05; Thomas P. Mac Mahon ’68, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of LabCorp and Angie McGuire, Deputy Chief of Governor Jon Corzine’s Office of Economic Growth.<\/div>\n

A Jersey City native, Tagliabue served as NFL Commissioner from 1989-2006. He attended Saint Michael’s High School in Union City as a scholastic All America basketball player. Tagliabue earned his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and was a Rhodes Scholar finalist. He earned his law degree from New York University in 1965. Tagliabue and his brother, John Tagliabue ’67, delivered the address at Saint Peter’s commencement exercises in 2005 and received honorary degrees.<\/div>\n

Mac Mahon was Senior Vice President of Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc. and President of the Diagnostics Group. He became President and Chief Executive Officer of LabCorp, one of the nation’s largest independent clinical laboratories, in 1997. He is currently on the Saint Peter’s College Board of Trustees.<\/div>\n

Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City.
