JERSEY CITY, N.J. \u2013 August 24, 2026<\/b>\u2013 Saint Peter\u2019s University has entered into a five-year partnership with the American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUA) to create an enhanced pathway for Saint Peter\u2019s graduates interested in pursuing a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"AUA<\/a>The partnership provides qualified Saint Peter\u2019s graduates with an expedited pathway into AUA\u2019s M.D. program while offering additional financial and admissions benefits designed to support students as they pursue careers in medicine.<\/span><\/p>\n

Under the agreement, Saint Peter\u2019s graduates with a GPA above 3.0 who meet AUA\u2019s admission requirements will be eligible for expedited admission consideration. Eligible graduates will also receive a waived application fee and an expedited admissions process, including application review, interview and decision. Once accepted and committed to attending AUA, students will also have the pre-registration seat deposit waived.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, Saint Peter\u2019s graduates accepted into AUA\u2019s M.D. program through the partnership will be eligible for a $10,000 Preferred Partner Grant, distributed over 12 academic terms throughout their medical education. AUA will not place a limit on the number of Saint Peter\u2019s graduates eligible through the partnership, and students may also be eligible for other AUA scholarships and awards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership will also create opportunities for Saint Peter\u2019s students to engage directly with AUA representatives. AUA will host three information sessions each year on the Saint Peter\u2019s campus, providing students with opportunities to learn more about medical education, the admissions process and the pathway to becoming a physician.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This is an exciting new opportunity for our students to pursue careers in medicine through a clear and supportive pathway to medical school. With streamlined processes and support, and ongoing engagement between our two institutions, we are expanding access to medical education while reinforcing Saint Peter’s University’s commitment to student success and preparing the next generation of compassionate healthcare professionals.” explained Rosette Allegretti, Assistant Vice President for Academic Partnerships and Operations at Saint Peter\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n

AUA\u2019s M.D. program follows a U.S.-modeled medical curriculum. Students complete their preclinical education at AUA\u2019s campus in Antigua before moving into clinical education at affiliated teaching hospitals in the United States. The clinical phase provides students with hands-on experience in patient care across a range of medical specialties.<\/span><\/p>\n
