April 5, 2003– Jersey City, NJ\u2013 Saint Peter\u2019s College senior Tiffany Jacobson (Weehawken, NJ) has been selected by the State of New Jersey\u2019s Department of Education as one of 16 Commissioner\u2019s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Awards. The award will be presented on Wednesday, May 14 at River View Plaza in Trenton. The Commissioner\u2019s Distinguished Teacher Candidate Awards annually recognize the year\u2019s top graduates of teacher preparation programs at the state\u2019s colleges and universities. Jacobson student-taught last semester at Edison School in Union City, NJ. She is a member of the Saint Peter\u2019s Student Education Association and Kappa Delta Pi, education\u2019s National Honor Society. The Elementary Education and American Studies major will graduate on May 18 with magna cum laude honors. \u201cTiffany has been a great student during her four years at Saint Peter\u2019s,\u201d Saint Peter\u2019s Education Professor Dr. Harry Harty said. \u201cShe\u2019s bright and works hard..
