Class of 2002 to Hold Flagpole memorial Dedication on Saturday

The Class of 2002 will hold its Flagpole Memorial Dedication on Saturday, September 14th, 2002 at 12:30 p.m., just prior to the Women’s Soccer game against Delaware State University. The pole will be dedicated to those from the Saint Peter’s community that were lost on September 11th.

Saint Peter’s College unique in dropping Undergraduate admissions apllication fee

Saint Peter’s Sets New NJ Standard By Dropping $35 Fee Jersey City, NJ – Saint Peter‚s College will become the first four-year college or university in New Jersey to drop its undergraduate application fee according to Joe Giglio, the College’s Director of Admissions. Interested students will no longer be charged a $35 fee.

Dr. Richard Petriello Named Associate Dean

Dr. Richard Petriello (Bloomfield, NJ), who has taught at Saint Peter’s College since 1974, has been named the Associate Dean of the undergraduate college. He will continue to teach biology courses at the College and will now assist Dean Gene Cornacchia in various academic initiatives. The announcement was made by the College’s Academic Vice President, Dr. Alexandra Gregory.

Bridge Construction Begins

Work has begun on the Saint Peter’s Walkway, a pedestrian bridge that will span Kennedy Boulevard linking the East and West campus of Saint Peter’s College. Work on the Walkway will be completed during the fall semester.

Saint Peter’s College Uses Department of Higher Education Grant

The Saint Peter’s College Department of Education has instituted New Jersey’s first college-run “Future Teachers Club” to interest urban, minority students in a teaching career. The club is funded through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Higher Education.
The Club allows students from 10 Hudson County high schools to spend a day at Saint Peter’s to learn about the teaching profession and what skills are necessary to become a teacher. The grant also provides for each school to have a paid coordinator who assists the students with regularly scheduled meetings and discussions.
