Reference Services

Reference Librarians are your personal guides to the online catalog, the research databases, the physical collection, and the facility.

Are you struggling with a research assignment?  Let us help you find the information resources you really need. Visit us in person at the O’Toole Library Reference Desk during the hours listed below.  For reference assistance from off-campus, connect with us through chat, e-mail, or phone via Ask a Librarian.

O’Toole Library Reference Desk Schedule: Fall Semester

Monday – Thursday 8:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Friday, Saturday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sunday 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM

While the staff strives to provide personal service, the level of activity at the reference desk determines the amount of time the librarian can devote to each patron. At busy times the reference staff may only be able to provide no more than 15 minutes of assistance to any one patron. For complex and time-consuming reference requests, it may be best to make an appointment for a scheduled consultation. E-mail reference@saintpeters.edu to arrange for a one-on-one research consultation with a reference librarian.
