21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge

The YWCA of North New Jersey is part of a nationwide 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge. According the YWCANNJ, “The challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership.” For 21 days, participants will be sent articles, podcasts, and prompts for personal reflection in order to engage with issues of racial and social justice. Participation in an activity like this follows the Jesuit principle of discernment and helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice affect our community and our ability to connect with one another. Join to help “identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination.” This year’s 21-Day Challenge will feature special participation from Black Lives Matter.

Participants will also be provided non-partisan information and resources to voter registration, local and national residency regulations, and knowing your rights as a voter.

Anyone can participate. All events are free and completely virtual. For more information or to join the challenge, visit the YWCANNJ website or visit their Facebook page.

The History Department would like to thank Adjunct Lecturer of History, Dr. Christiane Warren, for sharing this opportunity.
