Fighting HIV/AIDS Together: An Awareness Program

students in audienceThe criminal justice department sponsored an event last week titled, “Fighting HIV/AIDS Together: An Awareness Program.” Students filled the McIntyre Conference Center to hear from The Hudson County HIV/AIDS Service Planning Council on HIV and STD awareness. Luis Farmer, M.S.S.A., group facilitator and activist also gave a presentation titled, “How I Became Better, and Not Bitter” and Fr. Rocco Danzi gave a Catholic reflection on HIV. The event was co-sponsored by the sociology and urban studies department, the Africana studies program, the women’s studies program, the social justice program, FOCUS and the sociology and urban studies club.
