The first prize winner was Devin Varela &#8217;20 and his company Social Throne. Second prize went to Solomon Crawford &#8217;17 of J-Life. Karen Castaneda &#8217;18, Anica Bustamante &#8217;18, Maria Santacruz &#8217;17 and their company Pup Pawps won the audience choice award.<\/p>\n<p>The teams were judged by Bruce Rosenthal, M.B.A., Ph.D., KPGM founding dean of the School of Business, Phil Delabar, M.B.A., business adjunct professor; Kimberly Sumpter, owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/waxkandy\/\">Wax Kandy Candle Company<\/a>; Aleksandra Lacka of Insights Studio; and Janak Sarda, entrepreneur.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On December 8, student entrepreneurs competed in the Shark Tank Pitch competition.
