MPA Students Compete on Global Health Simulation in NY

Three Master of Public Administration (MPA) students (David Caracta, Devan Tierney, and Jessica Kennedy) competed on three separate teams last weekend at a competition in New York sponsored by the the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration.

A total of eight teams competed to analyze a global health pandemic and present their solutions to a panel of expert judges. The competition featured a simulation model, which required students to apply the skills they learned in the classroom and implement systems thinking to solve the crisis.

Jessica and David’s team advanced to the semi-finals where their teams each gave presentations on their last simulation. Jessica’s team advanced further to become a regional finalist from the Baruch site. Jessica’s team will now compete against other regional finalists for global honors.
