Human Resources Director for the City of Jersey City shares their tips on finding jobs and internships.

Mark Bunbury and Laura Pakhmanov shared their tips on finding jobs and internships at the MPA program’s Career Night on January 17th. Mark Bunbury is the human resources director for the City of Jersey City and Laura Pakhmanov is the executive director of the Center for Career Engagement and Experiential Learning (CEEL) at Saint Peter’s.

Ms. Pakhmanov explained how CEEL promotes students’ academic, career, and personal development by providing a variety of free services including one-on-one counseling sessions, resume critique and assistance, cover letter review, interview preparation, referrals to internships and jobs, networking workshops and information sessions.

Mr. Bunbury told the students that the City of Jersey City will soon be faced with a wave of retirements. He explained the city’s hiring process, how MPA students are well suited for a variety of careers, and he offered suggestions to students who are interested in working for the City.
