I am indebted to Saint Peter’s University, and specifically the Graduate Communications Program, for setting me up for long-term success.
As an Outreach Director for the Nevada Department of Veterans Services, and later the Veterans Outreach Manager for a U.S. Senator, the skills and acumen I learned from their world-class faculty allowed me to advance the policies of my employers while being the face and voice for government officials at various events. The one-on-one instruction, knowledge and care I received allows me to advance veteran-friendly policies, and has launched my career as a nonprofit founder and CEO.
If you are looking to improve your career trajectory, you would be hard pressed to find a better program, or better people.

Since graduating from the Master’s in Communications and Public Relations program at Saint Peter’s University, I have been working as the Development and Marketing Manager at Hudson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and have recently been promoted to Associate Director of Marketing and Development.
In my free time, I started a business where I create personalized gifts and treats, party favors, and logos for businesses and the skills I learned in this program, specifically from the Social Media Classes, were very helpful when it came to creating my own content and marketing my own business. I also serve as a member of my town’s Recreation Committee where I use skills learned in my Public Relations Courses to promote events to local newspapers and businesses.
While in the second year of this program, I had the opportunity to take a graduate travel course to Vietnam. This was an amazing opportunity where I was able to be immersed in the culture of Vietnam while also learning about how they run the media there as we were able to visit and speak with one of their most popular news sites.
This program truly prepares you for your professional career, and while working on your final thesis you are able to cater it to a topic you are interested in. I was able to focus on how social media can be utilized as a free tool to recruit new donors to nonprofit organizations and the results from that survey and what I learned through my research is still relevant to my career today.
The value of this program and the experience of the Professors who share their connections and experience is truly exceptional. I highly recommend pursuing your Master’s Degree in Communications and Public Relations at Saint Peter’s University!

Having been a part of the graduate program in Communication and Public Relations at Saint Peter’s University expanded my skill set and gave me the opportunity to be the first one in my immediate family to obtain a Master’s degree, an accomplishment I take great pride in. Having also earned my Bachelor’s degree from Saint Peter’s, I knew the level of education and experience that I would gain would be worthwhile. As with any high-level program, this one is challenging, but the memories and hard work that were involved in earning my Master’s made it all the more worthwhile.
My most rewarding experience in the program was the opportunity to travel to Vietnam for the Public Relations and Video Storytelling course. With the guidance of Professor Ernabel Demillo, I filmed a short story commemorating the then 45th anniversary of the Vietnam War. We shot on many locations and interviewed exceptional individuals who recounted their experiences of that time. The final story was recognized with a New York Emmy nomination, an achievement I would never have dreamed about having on my resume.
I am forever grateful for the opportunity that the program has given me. The skills and accolades have helped me reach destinations I never considered possible and are only the beginning of what I have yet to achieve.
