School of Education

The Saint Peter’s University education program helped me develop my skills and become a twenty-first century educator. The professors are knowledgeable in their areas of instruction. They care about making and molding their students into future educators” – Catarina Abrantes ’09

Education changes lives.

At Saint Peter’s University our School of Education prepares motivated students to become outstanding teachers, administrators and counselors.

From innovative curriculum to mentoring by experienced faculty, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students receive an education attuned to the needs of today’s profession.

Alternative Route to Certification: The Saint Peter’s University Alternate Route Program is a method for college graduates to become fully certified teachers without receiving a master’s degree. Starting with the “24 Hour Program,” this route to a teaching career has four steps which take place over the course of a calender year.

Saint Peter’s University’s undergraduate program in education provides pre-professional training for teaching on the elementary, middle school, and secondary school levels. We are recognized as leaders in urban education and for our long history of developing teachers and educational administrators who bring an ethical perspective to the field of education.

And we put a premium on field experience. The Saint Peter’s University Teacher Preparation Program, which is designed to prepare graduates to enter elementary and secondary classrooms as caring and professionally prepared teachers, is accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council.
