Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership Announces March Schedule

Established in 1994 by Congressman Frank Guarini H ’94, The Guarini Institute for Government and Leadership at Saint Peter’s College aims to provide a non-partisan forum for discussion of key public policy issues. The Institute sponsors lectures and programs throughout the academic year to promote critical thinking, debate, and careers in public service.

Its Guarini Lecture Series brings national and state political leaders and policy makers together to discuss timely issues impacting our world. The Institute also sponsors periodic Public Affairs Forums to address topics of particular interest, as well as an annual High School Oratory Contest. There are multiple events scheduled for the month of March.

On March 1, Saint Peter’s College is proud to award the Hon. Gertrude Mongella the inaugural Guarini Institute Global Leadership Award. Ambassador Mongella has dedicated her life to improving conditions and opportunities for women and children in the world. Her international advocacy for women has made her a true Global Leader.

The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute’s Future Leaders Regional Conference will be held this year at Saint Peter’s College on March 9. “Explore the World. Discover Your Future.” will include the participation of experts from the public and private sectors, as well as members of Congress and representatives of Fortune 500 companies. Areas of focus in the conference include the latest innovation, global competitiveness and education.

The Hon. Cornelius Gallagher, the former New Jersey Congressman who was a friend and advisor to Presidents Kennedy and Johnson and who took on J. Edgar Hoover’s FBI, will discuss his “Privacy Wars” and America’s future on March 29.
