NJN News Features Center for Microplasma Science and Technology

NJN News visited Saint Peter’s College to report on the official opening of the College’s Center for Microplasma Science and Technology (CMST). Health and Medical Correspondent Sara Lee Kessler toured the facility and spoke with Jose L. Lopez, Ph.D., director of the center and principal investigator, and WeiDong Zhu, Ph.D., director of research and co-principal investigator, about the benefits of microplasmas, tiny discharges of ionized gas, which contain the ability to clean contaminated air and water, sterilize medical equipment, allow for skin and dental treatments, and provide resources for energy efficiency.
