Joseph Potenzone will intern this fall with Congressman Robert E. Andrews (D-NJ) in the nation’s capitol through The Washington Center program.

Jersey City — Saint Peter’s College Senior Joseph Potenzone of Glen Ridge will intern with Congressman Robert E. Andrews (D-NJ) in the nation’s capitol through The Washington Center program this fall. 

 
Rep. Andrews represents the First Congressional District. The ninth-term representative serves on the Education and the Workforce Committee. He is the Democratic leader and ranking member on the subcommittee on Employer-Employee relations. The committee oversees health insurance, pension and labor laws. Rep. Andrews also serves on the House Armed Services Committee.
 
“I look forward to learning first-hand how Congress works,” says Potenzone, a Political Science major. “I hope to obtain skills that will benefit me in my law school studies.” He is an active member of the Gannon Debating Society on campus.   
 
Now in its 30th year, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) is an educational nonprofit organization serving hundreds of colleges and universities by providing challenging opportunities to work and learn in Washington, D.C. for academic credit. TWC has over 33,000 alumni, many of whom are leaders in numerous professions and nations around the world.

Saint Peter’s College is the Jesuit College of New Jersey. Founded in 1872, Saint Peter’s has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in Jersey City. The College has a branch campus for adults in Englewood Cliffs, NJ and also offers courses at various corporate sites at the Jersey City waterfront and in South Amboy, NJ.
