Saint Peter’s Faculty Have Musical Side Too

Four Saint Peter’s College faculty members will sing in Carnegie Hall, one of the world’s greatest stages. Dr. Brian Hopkins (Mathematics) will sing in the famed concert hall on Wednesday, November 19 when he performs under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas. Hopkins is a bass, and also a board officer, with Canotri New York a group chosen to work with the noted San Francisco Symphony conductor on a program of Aaron Copland music in the new Zankel Hall. The concert is 7:30 p.m. He will be followed to New York by a trio known on campus as the”Three Sopranos,” Dr. Pat Redden (Chemistry), Dr. Sheila Rabin (History) and Dr. Susan Graham (Theology), who sing with the St. Cecilia Chorus, will perform Haydn’s Theresienmesse and Mozart’s “Great” Mass in C Minor at New York Carnegie Hall on Saturday, Dec. 6. They will then perform Vivaldi’s Gloria and Puccini’s Mesa di Gloria on February 29 at the Church of the Heavenly Rest in New York and return to Carnegie Hall on May 14 for Bach’s St. Matthew Passion.
