Our Alumni

Graduates of the Modern & Classical Languages Department are helping to build its reputation through their own accomplishments in industry and academia. The best way to learn the value of a Saint Peter’s Jesuit education is from those who have experienced it. Here’s some information about our graduates:

Dr. Carlos Tapia – ’97; Ph.D Spanish, Georgetown University 2007; Specialist in the Lazarillo de Tormes and its filmic representations;

Dr. Ronald Tobin – ’57, “Commander in the Order of the Academic Palms,” the highest level of knighthood conferred upon academics by the French Ministry of Education; Fulbright Fellow; Woodrow Wilson Fellow; member of the American Council of Learned Societies; award winner of the National Endowment for the Humanities;

Ebenezer Concepcion – ’08; Spanish; Intern in the Hispanic Division of the United States Library of Congress; award winner of the National Endowment for the Humanities; State Representative to the Hispanic Congressional Caucus; awarded a full-scholarship and full expenses paid in the M.A./Ph.D Program in Spanish at the University of Chicago

Andrea Freeman Chipana – ’05; Spanish, French, and Italian; awarded a full scholarship to the M.A. Program in Spanish at the University of Delaware (2005-2007); World Languages teacher, the Morristown Beard School, Morristown, NJ.
