Country Selection Process

Country Selection Process

  1. We will begin making country assignments as soon as we receive completed conference registration forms, on a first come, first serve basis.  
  2. Each country should have at least one but no more than two delegates representing it in each of the committees.
  3. All UN member countries are entitled to  representation in the following committees :

General Assembly:

  1. Disarmament and International Security
  2. Social, Humanitarian and Cultural
  3. Special Political and Decolonization
  4. Security Council

Economic and Social Council Committees::

  1. World Health Organization
  2. Commission of Sustainable Development
  3. Committee of Experts on the Transportation of Dangerous Goods & on the Global Harmonized Systems of Classifications & Labeling of Chemicals
  4. Committee on Status of Women

The following Countries are required to be represented by two delegates on the Security Council and at least one delegate for each of the remaining committees. Therefore a minimum of eleven delegates is required.

The Permanent Members (P5): China, France, Russia, United Kingdom and the U.S.A.

2018 Non-permanent members:

  • Germany
  • Croatia
  • Benin
  • Iran
  • Kenya
  • South Korea
  • Myanmar
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Chile
  • El Salvadore

Each country should be represented by at least 9 but not more than 18 delegates. However, while the maximum of 18 delegates per country cannot be waived, The Secretariat will consider allowing you to bring fewer than 9 delegates to represent a country. This exception does not apply to countries sitting on the Security Council. A final decision will be delivered along with confirmation of your country assignment.
