Program Options
At Saint Peter’s University, students can study abroad in a variety of ways:
Faculty-Led Short-Term Travel Courses
You can register for an international study course led by a Saint Peter’s faculty member. These courses begin on campus and include an international travel component over winter or spring break. Look for courses with the INTL designation in Class Search, Spirit Online; then contact the professor directly for detailed information on the course and registration procedure.
International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)
Through ISEP-Exchange, students from 50 countries including the US are able to visit member universities for a semester or a year.
Some ISEP programs offer instruction in English. Others feature courses in the native language and require participants to have completed advanced/intermediate-level language study prior to the study abroad program. ISEP programs typically require a 2.75 GPA, with preference given to students with a 3.0.
Tuition is paid directly to Saint Peter’s based on the regular semester charge. Saint Peter’s institutional aid can be applied to tuition costs, as can government aid. ISEP-Exchange provides housing.
Korea Exchange Program
Saint Peter’s University offers a joint academic exchange program with Sogang University, a Jesuit institution in Seoul, South Korea. The program is of particular interest to those studying history, political science, management, international studies, and Asian or Asian-American studies. Around 3,000 foreign students study annually at Sogang University. You may register for courses offered in Korean or English for a maximum of 19 credits per semester. You may also register free of charge in Korean language courses offered by the Korean Language Education Center.
Tuition is paid directly to Saint Peter’s based on the regular semester charge. Saint Peter’s institutional aid can be applied to tuition costs, as can government aid. Sogang provides housing.
Spain Exchange Program
Business students may apply to participate in a semester-long direct exchange program with IQS, Univeristat Ramón Llull in Barcelona, Spain. Each spring, four to six exchange seats are available. The Barcelona semester runs from February to May. An intensive Spanish language course will be available in January. You may take four to five business courses (taught in English) and a mandatory Culture of Spain course during the semester. You may also register for courses taught in Spanish if they have sufficient language proficiency. Every Saint Peter’s student is assigned an IQS study abroad peer mentor throughout the semester.

You can choose to live off-campus in student residences or with a host family. To learn more about off-campus housing options, please contact the Center.
Approved Study Abroad Program Providers
Saint Peter’s University permits students to participate in American-sponsored programs overseas through approved study abroad program providers. These programs allow students to choose from hundreds of placements in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, and South America. Although your Saint Peter’s institutional aid cannot be used to pay for these programs, most forms of government aid may be applied. In recent years, Saint Peter’s students have studied overseas through many programs such as AIFS, CIEE, and John Cabot University.

Direct Enrollment in Foreign Universities
The University will work with students who wish to enroll directly in a university overseas. In recent years students have enrolled directly in universities in France, Italy, Malta, and Argentina.
