In both my personal and professional life, there is a single guiding principle that defined the person I am today and strive to be tomorrow – Being men and women with and for others.
Originally from the small town of Velingrad, Bulgaria, Goritsa packed her dreams in a suitcase and in the summer of 2005 ventured into an exciting journey with Saint Peter’s University, a journey that to-date she still considers the best direction she could have taken.
She recalls, “No doubt I was initially scared of the transition but Saint Peter’s community very soon became my second home providing me with all the personal care and encouragement I needed to pursue my aspirations”. Tutoring and participation in student activities (e.g., Student Alumni Association, Accounting Honors Society and Business Law Association, International Students Initiatives) were an integral part of her campus life. She also gained valuable internship experience with Lehman Brothers and upon graduation, joined Ernst & Young LLP full-time.
Goritsa is now a Manager in the Advisory practice of Ernst & Young LLP, assisting banking and capital markets clients in the area of financial services risk management. Goritsa is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York and a Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
Nowadays, on a weekend or holiday when she is not traveling to explore different places and cultures, you can probably spot her biking along the Hudson River.
