Katherine Safford-Ramus, Mathematics Department

Dr. Katherine Safford-Ramus, Professor of Mathematics, has received a travel grant award from the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) to present her research at the 13th International Congress on Mathematical Education to be held in Hamburg, Germany July 24-31, 2016. In the award letter, the NCTM Committee noted that “over 700 mathematics educators applied for an award” making “the final choices very difficult. The Committee based their decisions on the applications as a whole, educational level, geographic distribution, plans for disseminating the international perspective after the Congress, and the statement of how attending the Congress might contribute to individual growth as mathematics educators.” Dr. Safford-Ramus’ studies are being funded by an SPU Research Fellowship.
