Theology Students Celebrate Diwali and Engage in Hindu Culture
Students and faculty recently joined in the annual celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights that marks the new year in India, at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Secaucus. During the celebration, they immersed themselves in the Hindu culture by observing many rituals, learning about Hindu traditions and sharing in the Gujarati community’s traditional food, dress and music. This was the final outing in a series of interfaith field trips co-sponsored by campus ministry and the theology department for the fall semester. Information for the spring 2016 interdenominational field trip series will soon be announced.
